For some reason Suda 51 had to get out the blood in [tag]No More Heroes[/tag] for the [tag]Wii[/tag], and this European gamer wanted to have a juicy blood-red No More Heroes so he imported the NSTC-version and got himself the [tag]Datel[/tag][tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag].
Today [tag]Datel[/tag] finally officially announced a Freeloader for the Wii. [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag] will allow us to play any game from any country on any [tag]Wii[/tag] using this simple software. Currently the Wii Freeloader is available on the Codejunkies UK site, and Play-Asia will be opening pre-orders for the Japanese, US and European version soon. Here’s a list of the features of the Wii Freeloader:
Features [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag]
Play games never released in your region
Play local games on your imported console
No console modification required
100% unofficial
Play ANY region of Wii or GameCube game on ANY Wii
Easy to use
No more waiting for Western releases of games, no more worrying about having to mod your console to make it read discs from foreign countries.
When you watch this video it will become clear that European gamers are really looking forward to the release of [tag]Datel[/tag]’s [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag]. American gamers are getting [tag]Super Smash Bros. Brawl[/tag] really soon, but they still have to wait until fall to get their hands on SSBB! Many other great [tag]Wii[/tag]-titles had some delay in Europe as well, but thanks to the Freeloader they’ll soon be able to play new games around the same time like we!
Yesterday we reported that a new Nintendo Wii update breaks Freeloader software, which is very bad news for a lot of PAL users. It was unknown if this was an accident or something done on purpose by [tag]Nintendo[/tag] to have a good laugh with game importers. Nintendo said to Eurogamer that [tag]Datel[/tag]’s [tag]GameCube Freeloader[/tag] isn’t an official product approved by [tag]Nintendo[/tag], so they’re not planning to fix the system software to make our [tag]Freeloader[/tag] work again.
A new [tag]Wii[/tag]firmware update from [tag]Nintendo[/tag] made a few [tag]Wii[/tag]-systems freak out when you insert a Freeloader. A lot of people are complaining that the new system software is breaking their [tag]GameCube Freeloader[/tag]. [tag]Nintendo[/tag] didn’t announce this feature in the new firmware update, and some people think [tag]Nintendo[/tag] didn’t do it on purpose. Whatever the cause of this error is, it sucks for people who used to use their [tag]Freeloader[/tag] on their Wii.
[tag]GameCube[/tag]-games only cost a scratch nowadays, so a lot of gamers want to import cheap Japanese games to catch up on some titles they had to miss during the last-generation of gaming. Especially PAL-gamers missed a lot of great classic games for [tag]Nintendo[/tag]’s [tag]GameCube[/tag]. However, the [tag]GameCube Freeloader[/tag] isn’t compatible with every [tag]Wii[/tag]. Some versions of the old Freeloader aren’t working with certain GameCube-games on the Wii. Play-Asia made a list with what versions of the [tag]Freeloader[/tag] are compatible with what systems.
Many gamers are complaining that there’s not a [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag] available yet, but it shouldn’t take too long until we see the very first Freeloaders coming. [tag]Datel[/tag] have announced that they’re working on a [tag]Wii[/tag]-version of the famous Freeloader software. They’re working on it as hard as they can, but there are a few obstacles. Future firmware updates released by [tag]Nintendo[/tag] might block the [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag].
