Hackers working around new firmware update

homebrew, Wii, Nintendo, Wii Freeloader, People, do not fear the new Wii firmware update from Nintendo that is said to block the Wii Freeloader! Hackers have found a way around the Twilight Hack killer and have their hacks up and running again. The homebrew community is up and running again and people are working on a solution for Datel’s Wii Freeloader as well. So don’t be affraid and get the Wii Freeloader if you haven’t got one yet!

Today Nintendo released a new firmware update for its Wii-console, and immediately homebrewers and hackers complained about their Wii being blocked. The Twilight Princess hack has disappeared, so hacking your Wii won’t be easy in the future.

But now it looks like the new system software for the Wii also blocks the use of the Wii Freeloader. Datel always advertised that their Wii Freeloader wouldn’t be get killed by future updates, but now it seems that Nintendo found a way to block it.

Mario Kart Wii, Wii, Wii Freeloader

Play-Asia said that the Japanese [tag]Mario Kart Wii[/tag] version wasn’t working on US [tag]Wii[/tag] systems with the [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag], but apparently they were wrong. NCS is now reporting that Play-Asia was using an older firmware version that blocked the Mario Kart Wii disc, but they tried it with v3.1U firmware and the game worked perfectly so don’t worry and import Mario Kart Wii from Japan!

A few American gamers tried to import the Japanese version of [tag]Mario Kart Wii[/tag] wit the [tag]Wii Freeloader[/tag], but soon after that Play-Asia gave them a mail that after some testing they discovered that the Japanese version of the game isn’t compatible with the US [tag]Wii[/tag] and Wii Freeloader. So far there isn’t any info on the compatibility with the European version of Mario Kart Wii.
